2011 Bridgestone Eco-Rally start-line display - Broad Street, Oxford
The 2011 Bridgestone Eco-Rally will start in Broad Street against the backdrop of classic Gothic architecture. Broad Street is a popular tourist destination in the centre of Oxford and is filled with famous Oxford University buildings including the Sheldonian Theatre, Exeter College and the Museum of the History of Science. The Oxford Information Centre and Oxfam’s very first charity shop are also located in this busy boulevard. The county of Oxfordshire has the highest concentration of households owning two or more cars.

Bring your old mobile phones for recycling to help offset emissons.
Getting There
Spectators please note: Broad Street will be closed to cars during the event and the Pay & Display bays will be used for the display.

Bus, coach, train and tram services are greener than going by car… and can save you money. The nearest bust stops are on Magdalen street and Park & Ride schemes are dotted around the city. Plan your electric hybrid bus journey to Broad Street here: http://www.greenerbybus.com
Cycle parking is also available in several places on Broad Street including the White Horse pub. The pub has kindly agreed to open very early on Sunday morning to enable us to avoid using a noisy, smelly generator for our power and will be serving much needed cups of coffee directly opposite the start line.

Alternatively share a car journey by visiting Oxford-based lift-sharing site: http://gocarshare.com. If you would like to share the journey with other people coming to the event, you can find other people travelling to the eco-rally on goCarShare, a new type of car sharing website that is built around Facebook.
