Dr Gregory Offer is a Research Fellow at Imperial College London. As a young academic he is involved in research investigating hydrogen fuel cells, batteries and hybrid and electric vehicles, from fundamental electrochemistry to the engineering challenges involved in developing low carbon vehicles.

Four years ago Greg co-founded Imperial Racing Green, an undergraduate teaching project involving over a hundred students a year designing fuel cell, hybrid and electric racing vehicles. Greg is also currently on secondment to the Department of Energy and Climate Change, where he is working as an energy advisor, and has had previous roles in Parliament managing an enquiry for a Select Committee and working for the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology.

Imperial College London is Europe's premier engineering institution. The Imperial Racing Green project draws on expertise from across Imperial College's Faculty of Engineering, building low emissions, hydrogen fuel cell, and battery electric vehicles to compete in races across the globe. Some of these vehicles will be on display at the Eco-Rally 2010 finish line in Hyde Park.
