Allied Electric Peugeot e-Expert Van
The Lithium-Ion batteries were put to the test when the eExpert travelled a total of 85 miles in 90 mins (with passenger) via motorways and congested city streets, before parking up next to Allied ZEV's larger Peugeot eMonarch electric minibus and their electric taxi. The co-pilot was Scottish rugby star Iwan Tukalo from Southern Electric, giving him the chance to experience the benefits of renewable, zero emission power generation.
Boris Johnson gave the thumbs up to the electrified commercial vehicles on display at City Hall.
The Eco-Rally was a fantastic way to highlight the ability of electric vehicles. Our eExpert performed brilliantly in the rally with lots of charge to spare. Boris himself congratulated us on our efforts. He was really impressed with the eExpert’s 100 mile range and told me that the vehicle would be ideal for inner city journeys in and around London.
- Dave Speak, Allied Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV)
Electric power is up to seven times cheaper per mile than the equivalent diesel vehicle and no carbon, particulate or other pollutants are produced wherever the vehicle is operating. In Scotland - where the van is built - companies like Scottish & Southern Electric generate renewable, non fossil electricity from the abundant water and wind energy, meaning the van can be truly zero emissions.
Recharge, Reuse, Recycle
Allied's lithium-ion batteries are designed to perform over 1,300 full charging cycles. Recharging is easy too, thanks to the on-board duel-mode, plug-in charger. At the end of your lease, Allied Electric will assume full responsibility for reuse and recycling of your battery.
