The Citroën 'Rosalie' was the world's first production diesel car part-developed by highly acclaimed engineer, Sir Harry Ricardo (founder of Ricardo Consulting Engineers). The veteran Rosalie (1760cc 11UD) first appeared at the Paris Motor Show in 1935, and therefore surprised the press at the start-line of the inaugural future car rally from Brighton to London.
