Gasrec Biomethane Lotus

The Lotus Elise preparing for the start of the Eco-Rally

Gasrec’s S1 Elise was converted by Lotus Engineering to run on compressed methane gas and is the only vehicle of its kind.

The 1.8l, 4 cylinder engine may be 60% quieter than a normal petrol-powered Elise, but it still growls like a sports car and was undoubtedly the sexiest green car at The People's Eco-Rally 2008!

Vehicle Design students at the Royal College designed the striking artwork to draw attention to environmentally friendly gas vehicles, especially Gasrec Blue - the fuel they derive from waste biomass.
