Honda CR-Z - The World's First Sporty Hybrid
The Honda CR-Z Hybrid proves that cars can be both fun and environmentally responsible. Sleek and stylish, it just so happens to be a hybrid. With three different driving modes to choose from, this coupe will be fast on the motorway and will also come in handy when we need to zip between the 'Chelsea tractors' en route to the Eco-Rally finish line. Another bonus is that we'll avoid having to pay the congestion charge.
“We wanted to develop a car you would be proud of. A car you would want to talk about with your friends... a car you could show off."
- Honda

Sleek and slippery
The CR-Z’s slippery design allows the coupe to cut through the air with minimal disturbance, lowering fuel consumption and emissions. The roof slope and length is critical to the overall aerodynamic performance of a car and the CR-Z’s stylists and engineers worked together to create the longest roof length possible without upsetting the overall visual balance of the car.
Short, Sharp & Throaty
The CR-Z is the first hybrid ever to have a sporty, 6-speed manual gearbox - balancing driver enjoyment (with closely spaced ratios) and fuel economy (with a longer top gear).
The CR-Z development team dedicated a great deal of time and thought to the design of the exhaust to give it a sporty note, quite unlike any previous compact hybrid. Of course, it also had to be an efficient unit that allowed optimum engine operation, minimised emissions and generated the target power level.
In short, this Honda hybrid is engineered to be as fun to drive as a MINI, with the comfort of a VW Scirocco and sub 120g/km CO2.
