Organic Power biomethane van

Organic-Power-EcoRally

Organic Power drove their converted Mercedes EcoSprinter van from Brighton to London in the People's Eco-Rally and the company was awarded a Navman S90i satnav as a recognition of their positive environmental impact, both globally and locally. The van's exhaust is quieter, less smelly and emits less pollutants than the conventinal diesel engine on which it is based. Organic Power are so confident in their clean natural gas fuel that the driver [the inventor's cousin] drank the collected water vapour from the van's exhaust.

fuel from waste food represented as a compost-bin petrol pumpOrganic Power have developed a patented system to maximise the energy extraction from waste food and convert it into fuel. The concept is simple, instead of leaving excess food to rot away in landfills, harness the powerful greenhouse gases they produce and turn it into clean fuel. www.organic-power.co.uk

Biomethane as a Vehicle Fuel Biomethane is the world’s most environmentally friendly vehicle fuel. The route to having vehicles being powered by biomethane is to begin by having them fuelled by natural gas and then to replace this fossil fuel natural gas with biomethane when the use of Natural Gas Vehicles has become established. This is what has happened, or is happening, in other countries around the world. There are over 8.5 million gas vehicles on the road, growing by over 20% per year. There are over 1 million gas vehicles in: * Pakistan (where 60% of the vehicles run on gas) * Argentina * Brazil There are over 40,000 gas vehicles in: * USA * China
