'Efficient-C' diesel hybrid Citroen Berlingo MPV

This Berlingo - code named Efficient-C - is Ricardo's successful attempt to meet the UK Department for Transport's Ultra Low Carbon Car Challenge. Current EC guidelines suggest that manufacturers should be looking to reduce carbon emissions to 130g/km by 2012. The Efficient-C delivers only 99g/km. And an advantage of the hybrid system is that driver (and pedestrian) stress is reduced - just peace and quiet when stationary.

Jenny Jones AM
