Revolve Eco-Rally 2009

Revolve is delighted to announce a partnership this year with What Car? magazine and the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership. Together, we three entities will organise a green motoring day consisting of a conference (hosted by LowCVP), a green car awards ceremony (hosted by What Car?) and Revolve's Eco-Rally on Monday, 8 June 2009.

Our Eco-Rally will once again flip the Veteran Car Run on its head, driving from Brighton's seafront to the waterfront at London's City Hall. The finish is timed to coincide with the conclusion of the LowCVP conference, and before the start of the WhatCar? Green Awards ceremony.

Now more than ever one could argue that the ability of the manufacturing industry to survive in its current form is inextricably linked to its ability to deliver leaner and greener models to the showrooms.

The LowCVP's sixth annual conference - "The Changing Climate for Vehicles" - takes place against a rapidly moving backdrop. The economic recession, the difficulties facing the motor industry and the growing climate threat have prompted Government plans for a 'Green New Deal' which will transform the motor industry along with many other parts of the economy. The second annual What Car? Green Awards, is your guide to the best eco-friendly cars you can buy. The winning vehicle from each category, (supermini, family car, luxury car, MPV, etc) will be announced and the overall winner will be revealed to the press. These winners aren't simply the cars with the lowest CO2 output. Of course, that's important, but there are other pollutants to consider, particularly if your car is mainly used around town. The green winners also have to make financial sense, they have to be safe, secure and be great cars to use and drive. Click here for more an overview of the What Car? Green Awards 2008.
