200km/h top-speed. Range of 400km on a single charge. Just 6hrs to re-charge using a normal socket. This student-built car has been tried and tested all the way from Alaska to Argentina. The epic road trip was aimed at shattering the public perception of electric vehicles as slow, unattractive and of limited range.

The Renault Foundation is launching a new training course for students with two years’ further education (Bac+2 or professional-experience diploma) in partnership with the IUT technology institute in Mantes (Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin): the first professional diploma (a French licence) on eco-mobility.

Rollapaluza aims to promote cycling as a means of transport, a healthy leisure activity and sport to as many people as possible including non-cyclists and people who do not currently participate in physical activity or exercise. There are currently over 50 Rollapaluza school events annually in the UK.

The Exige 270E Tri-fuel, could be the forefather of a new generation of conventionally driven cars that have the potential to be environmentally-neutral. It is the most powerful road version yet of the Exige and it runs on any mixture of gasoline, methanol and bio-ethanol. For the Oxford to London Eco-Rally it will be powered by a blend of waste wine and cheese whey.

The Sustainable Vehicle Engineering Centre (SVEC) at Oxford Brookes University is a unique platform for the whole of the automotive sector. The centre will deal with current and future challenge facing the whole life of the vehicle. Current issues concern the disassembly, disposal and the recycling and reuse of materials in the current global vehicle parc.
