The Energy Saving Trust (EST) provides a range of resources to help your organisation reduce carbon dioxide emissions. EST is working with partners to deliver the Plugged in Fleets Initiative. 20 organisations across the country will receive tailored strategic plans on how they can incorporate EVs into their fleets.

As an eco designer it won’t come as a surprise that I'm no petrol head motoring journalist but I have had the chance to drive a number of pure electric cars over the years - many with varying degrees of success and just a little anxiety.
Andreas Schamel was appointed Managing Director of the European Ford Research Center based in Aachen, Germany, as well as Chief Engineer Powertrain Research & Advanced Engineering Europe, effective 1st February 2009.
Dr Dominic Emery is Chief Development Officer for BP Alternative Energy, which was created at the end of 2005 and now comprises biofuels, wind and corporate ventures, with a plan to invest $8 billion in alternative energy over ten years. Dominic's current responsibilities include corporate venture investment, strategy and investor relations for Alternative Energy.<

The mia brand will be launched in the UK before the end of 2012. Vehicles are currently being asessed by utility companies, the public sector, courier companies and SMEs. The eco-rally will be the first public on-road debut for mia in the UK.

The island's Government plans to open its territory up for the development of offshore renewables. One survey suggests a target of installed offshore renewable energy generation capacity of 336 MW by 2020, of which 225MW from offshore wind and 111MW from tidal energy. Under the All Islands Agreement, the Isle of Man has the potential to become a major net exporter of renewable energy.

A specialist engineering team from within the world-famous university, Cambridge University Eco-Racing (CUER) has been creating solar-power-only racing cars to compete in the prestigious World Solar Challenge. The vehicles are designed, modelled and manufactured entirely from scratch. In the process the team has often developed entirely novel methods of car manufacturing and modes of thought in order to maximise the sustainability and safety of the vehicles. These methods have so far attracted the investment of global car manufacturers, energy companies and technological leaders.
