Peak oil
The point at which global oil supplies reach a peak. Following this peak, oil supplies decrease and never rise again. Leading geophysicists predict that peak is either currently occurring, or will have occurred by 2015. Meanwhile, demand for oil continues to increase at an extraordinary rate. The limits of where and how to extract the oil are increasingly being stretched to supply this demand.

The Citroën 'Rosalie' was the world's first production diesel car part-developed by highly acclaimed engineer, Sir Harry Ricardo (founder of Ricardo Consulting Engineers). The veteran Rosalie (1760cc 11UD) first appeared at the Paris Motor Show in 1935, and therefore surprised the press at the start-line of the inaugural future car rally from Brighton to London.

The project to deliver a fleet of the zero emission taxis to the streets of London in time for the 2012 Olympics is on track, with the first Fuel Cell Black Cabs covering a combined total of over 8,000 miles in road and test track testing conditions. The 2011 Bridgestone Eco-Rally will be another milestone in the high profile zero emission trial.
