The very definition of automobile is freedom of motion... Today the definition of automobile often includes association with an internal combustion engine. We’re here to change this definition one car at a time. The world will once again use the automobile to transport us free of convention. Tesla Motors will be part of this liberation.
About the Organisation
TESLA MOTORS was founded in 2003 by a group of intrepid Silicon Valley engineers who set out to prove that electric vehicles could be awesome.
Contrary to popular belief, the Tesla Roadster only shares 7% of components with the Lotus Elise. The majority of components for European models are currently assembled at the wind-powered Lotus factory in the UK. Tesla initially approached Lotus Engineering because of their knowledge of lightweight sportscar design.

In the 2009 Eco-Rally, all our guest drivers wanted to drive the Roadster, and the two UK-spec models are proving to be just as popular in 2010.
