Volvo is latin for "I roll...". Volvo was born in 1927, when the first car ÖV4, nicknamed 'Jakob', left the factory in Gothenburg. Vehicle safety is Volvo Cars' most important asset. The goal is to protect all people in traffic situations including the driver, passengers and pedestrians. Volvo Cars works to lower climate impact through efficiency, alternative fuels and hybrid technologies.
